The Federal Government-backed 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative, in partnership with Microsoft and Teknowledge, has announced the launch of the 3MTT x Microsoft Skilling Programme 2.0, offering Nigerians an opportunity to gain globally recognised digital skills at no cost.
Applications officially opened on April 8, with interested candidates invited to enrol in one of two high-demand learning tracks: DevOps or Data Analysis and Visualisation. The programme is fully virtual and designed to equip participants with practical, job-ready skills aligned with current industry needs.
Participants will receive a free Microsoft certification voucher upon completion, alongside access to career opportunities, recruiters, and employability support.
Programme Overview
The 3MTT x Microsoft Skilling Programme aims to bridge Nigeria’s digital skills gap by preparing participants for real-world roles in tech. The training runs as a 5-day intensive learning journey, combining technical instruction with personal branding and project management insights.
Successful applicants will gain hands-on experience and exposure to tools widely used in the global tech ecosystem, particularly within Microsoft Azure and Power Platform environments.
DevOps Learning Track
The DevOps track focuses on modern software development practices, including automation, deployment, and continuous integration.
Participants will learn how to build end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Azure, including creating Azure Functions and managing web applications. The programme also covers implementing DevOps pipelines that support continuous testing, security, monitoring, and feedback.
In addition, learners will develop skills in collaboration, workflow design, source control, and automation—key components required in today’s software engineering environments.
Requirements for DevOps
Applicants interested in the DevOps track must meet the following criteria:
- Access to a personal computer
- Minimum of two years’ programming experience
- Proficiency in using Azure SDKs
- Familiarity with Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, and related tools
Data Analysis and Visualisation Track
The Data Analysis and Visualisation track is designed for individuals interested in extracting insights from data and presenting them in meaningful ways.
Participants will be trained to analyse datasets, create reports, and build interactive dashboards using Microsoft Excel and Power BI. The programme also introduces learners to personal branding and basic project management concepts.
By the end of the training, participants are expected to confidently prepare, model, visualise, and analyse data while ensuring proper data management and security within Power BI environments.
Requirements for Data Analysis Track
Applicants are expected to have a foundational understanding of Microsoft Power Platform tools, including:
- Using Power BI for data-driven decision-making
- Automating processes with Power Automate
- Identifying use cases for Power Pages
- Understanding how Microsoft Copilot can support business solutions
