Internal memo: Akwa Ibom health workers to submit undeclared qualifications

Health workers in Akwa Ibom State have been given a strict 48-hour deadline to submit any undeclared health qualifications, following the state government’s recent declaration of a State of Emergency on the Health Sector.

In an internal memo dated 15th September 2025, signed by Rosemary I. Obong, Director of Administration and Supplies, and issued for the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Health directed all staff within the Ministry and across the health sector to comply with the order.

The memo states: “Following the declaration of a State of Emergency on the Health Sector by our health-friendly Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, the Ministry is calling on all staff within the Ministry of Health and across the health sector who possess health-related qualifications not previously declared to the Civil Service to submit their details for proper documentation and planning.”

Officials explained that the directive is part of efforts to strengthen the state’s healthcare workforce and revitalize healthcare delivery in line with the governor’s vision.

The required details include full name, present cadre, current place of work, undeclared health qualification, phone number, and email address.

According to the guidelines, the deadline is the close of work on Wednesday, 17th September 2025. Submissions may be made in hard copy or soft copy, with soft copies accepted via WhatsApp to 08025477752, captioned Health Qualification.

“All concerned staff are strongly advised to comply within the stipulated time to enable proper documentation and planning,” the memo added.
