The Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA) has commenced a financial literacy training for 1,200 members of the Top to Bottom Cooperative Society at Gyel Community, Jos South Local Government Area. The participants, made up predominantly of women, have been divided into six cohorts of 400 per group to ensure effective learning and practical engagement.

According to the agency, the training is designed to equip members with essential financial management skills while also promoting a stronger savings culture, investment opportunities, and the sustainable use of resources. By targeting women, the programme seeks to empower them as key drivers of household stability and community prosperity.

“This initiative aligns with His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s 4th Policy Thrust on Sustainable Economic Rebirth, which seeks to empower citizens, stimulate enterprise, and promote inclusive economic growth across Plateau State,” PLASMIDA noted.

The agency added, “At PLASMIDA, we remain committed to translating this vision into practical action — building financial inclusion, strengthening cooperatives, and creating opportunities that transform lives from the grassroots upward — truly from the Top to Bottom.”
