The institute is described as “a beacon of transformation for Nigerian youth,” dedicated to bridging the skills gap through practical training that meets both local and international standards.

According to the management of KIVTSD, the initiative is designed to empower young people with trade skills that can create sustainable income. “Learn a skill that pays,” the institute noted while calling on applicants to take advantage of the admissions window.

In engineering, options include welding and fabrication, electrical installation, aluminium fabrication, refrigeration and air conditioning, solar installation, and mechatronics. For ICT, training in computer hardware repair and maintenance is offered. The hospitality sector provides catering and hospitality, alongside fashion design.

Training options are flexible. Short-term programmes run for three months with quarterly intakes, leading to NSQ Unit certifications or the institute’s Competency Certificate. Long-term programmes last between nine to twelve months, providing Full NSQ Level qualifications. Students can also progress from unit to full certification within the same trade area.

Admission requirements include the National Identification Number (NIN) and a strong personal interest with commitment. There are no strict formal educational prerequisites, as entry assessment is conducted through oral interviews. Applications can be submitted online via kivtsd.edu.ng.
