September 29, 2025 – The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of the Regular Recruit Intake 90RRI online application exercise. According to the Army, the recruitment process is free of charge and applicants are strongly warned not to offer money or any form of inducement to secure placement.
In a statement, the Army explained that there will be no pre-selection computer-based test for applicants. It added that no special centre has been designated for recruitment and that “all screening of potential recruits will be conducted at the candidates’ respective state of origin.”
Candidates are instructed not to bring electronic or recording devices to the venue of the state recruitment exercise. The Army further stated that tattoos, body piercings or inscriptions other than tribal marks are not allowed. Female applicants with multiple ear piercings will not be accepted, and candidates must not belong to any cult, society or fraternity. The Army also emphasized that “any candidate who falsifies or forges his or her results and is discovered even during training at Depot NA will be withdrawn from training.”
Applicants are expected to present original copies of their educational certificates from primary to secondary school, alongside their National Identity Number slip and Bank Verification Number printout.
The basic requirements state that applicants must be single, Nigerian citizens by birth, and medically, physically, and psychologically fit in line with Army standards. They must be free from any criminal conviction and provide a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, a hospital or local government council, or an age declaration. Candidates must also possess a valid certificate of state of origin.
The height requirement is set at not less than 1.68 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females. Age limits are between 18 and 22 years for non-trades applicants, while trades men and women must not be above 26 years as of December 30, 2025. Educationally, applicants must have at least four passes including English Language in not more than two sittings in WAEC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS. Those applying as trades men and women must also present a Trade Test or City and Guild Certificate.
Online registration runs from September 29 to November 14, 2025. Interested applicants are to apply through the official portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng. They are to log in with a username and password, complete the online application form, and print out a copy alongside the guarantor form which must be duly signed. These documents are to be presented at designated state recruitment centres.
The Army disclosed that names of shortlisted candidates will be published on its website. Those shortlisted are expected to report for screening in their respective states of origin between December 4 and December 17, 2025.
