Yobe Health Board opens contract recruitment for midwives, CHEWs

Yobe State Primary Health Care Board has announced an internal and external advertisement for the contract engagement of Midwives and female Community Health Extension Workers across the 17 local government areas of the state.

According to the notice, “Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates (Midwives and female CHEWs) for contract engagement in our Primary Healthcare centres across the 17 LGAs.” The recruitment is aimed at strengthening primary healthcare delivery in rural and urban communities.

The qualifications required include a Midwifery or CHEW certificate and a current practising license. The board stressed that applicants must not be working with Federal, State, or Local Government institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations, or projects such as IMPACT, BHCPF, and MAMII. Another requirement is readiness to work in any primary healthcare centre within Yobe State. The notice also made it clear that only female candidates are eligible.

The method of application requires interested persons to submit their applications along with photocopies of credentials and curriculum vitae to the Director, Human Resource for Health, State Primary Healthcare Board, Damaturu.

“All applications must be received on or before close of work on Friday, 3rd October, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview,” the board added.
