Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (DEMSMEDA), in partnership with the Office of the First Lady, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has announced plans to host the M.O.R.E. CAP-UP Grant Disbursement Ceremony on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The event will hold at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, with accreditation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the official program starting at 11:00 a.m.
The M.O.R.E. CAP-UP initiative is part of the MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori administration, designed to strengthen entrepreneurship and provide economic empowerment for women in creative industries. According to the organizers, a total of 320 women drawn from the three senatorial districts of Delta State will benefit from the financial support. These beneficiaries were carefully selected from rural communities to ensure fairness and wider grassroots impact.
Her Excellency, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, Wife of the Executive Governor of Delta State, will personally oversee the grant disbursement at the ceremony. The program is aimed at promoting gender inclusion, rural development, and job creation through creative enterprise.
Dr. Godwin Adolor, Executive Secretary and CEO of DEMSMEDA, in a statement explained the vision of the initiative. He said, “The importance of supporting rural women in creative industries cannot be overstated. This initiative aligns with the state government’s drive to promote inclusive economic growth through innovation and enterprise.”
The program is expected to boost rural entrepreneurship, enhance financial independence among women, and contribute to sustainable development in Delta State. “All are cordially invited to attend this event as we celebrate and support women who are shaping the creative economy in our rural communities,” the statement concluded.
