The Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission, Abuja, has announced the recruitment of medical professionals to strengthen healthcare delivery across FCT hospitals and health facilities. The Commission made this known in a public notice titled “Advertisement for Recruitment of Medical Professionals.”
According to the announcement, applications are invited from qualified candidates to fill several vacant positions. The notice stated, “The FCT Civil Service Commission (Abuja) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill various medical positions aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery across FCT health facilities.”
The available positions include Medical Consultants under CONMESS 5, with specialties in ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat), Neurosurgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology (Adult), Nephrology (Adult), Infectious Disease (Adult), Paediatric Nephrology, Paediatric Cardiology, Oncology, Haematology, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
The Commission also announced openings for Medical Officers under CONMESS 2. Applicants must possess an MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognised institution and hold a current practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
For Nurses under CONHESS 7–9, categories include Perioperative, Accident and Emergency, Intensive Care, Paediatric, Psychiatric, Nephrology, Orthopaedic, Oncology, Ophthalmic, Public Health Nurses, and Midwives.
Other professional roles advertised include Pharmacists (CONHESS 9), Optometrists (CONHESS 9), Physiotherapists (CONHESS 8), Radiographers (CONHESS 9), Dental Therapists (CONHESS 8), Dietitians and Nutritionists (CONHESS 9), Medical Records Officers (CONHESS 9), Biomedical Engineers (CONHESS 7), and Medical Laboratory Scientists (CONHESS 9) in specialties such as Haematology, Microbiology, Histology, and Chemical Pathology.
The Commission also seeks Ambulance Drivers under NHWOSS 2. The requirement for this role includes a minimum of SSCE and a valid Class D or E driver’s licence.
The general requirements specify that applicants must be Nigerian citizens, possess NYSC discharge or exemption certificates where applicable, and hold valid practising licences. Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
Applications should be addressed to “The Chairman, FCT Civil Service Commission, APDC Building, CBD, Abuja.” The deadline for submission is on or before October 21, 2025. The Commission added, “Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview and further screening.”
