Federal Ministry of Education (FME) under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme is still sending confirmation emails to trainees who have been successfully matched to complete their registration.
The email, which carries the subject line “Congratulations – You Have Been Matched to Your Training Centre,” congratulates each trainee and informs them of the centre they have been assigned to.
The message reads in part:
“Dear Applicant,
Congratulations! You have been successfully matched to (name of centre), located at:
Address: …
Phone: …
You are required to report to your training centre within five (5) days of receiving this email to complete your registration. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your application, and your slot will be reassigned to another applicant.”
The letter also instructs trainees to log in to their portals and download resources from the Resources section, including their sample ID card and additional training materials. Trainees are told to print the sample ID card, attach their passport photograph, and bring it along when reporting to their centres.
According to the message, maintaining at least 65% attendance throughout the programme is compulsory to qualify for the monthly stipend. “We wish you a successful training experience as you take this important step in building your skills and future,” the message adds.
The next step for matched candidates is to either accept their placement, which is their assigned training centre, and upload a photo for verification, or reject the placement if they do not wish to proceed with that match. Once trainees complete their registration, their TVET approval status will change from “Approved” to “Registered.”
However, some trainees have expressed concerns about the distance to their assigned centres. Some said they spend up to N20,000 on transportation to and from the centres.

Regarding the TVET payment, Nigeriastartupact.ng confirmed that students in technical colleges will receive a monthly stipend of N45,000. Earlier, when the programme was first announced, the FME had stated the amount would be N22,500 per month for trainees. This new figure may still not be enough to cover transportation costs for trainees with distant placements.
