The Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA) has continued its zonal stakeholder engagements for the SEA-HUB Project, a strategic initiative designed to establish Entrepreneurship Clubs in secondary schools across Plateau State.
Following the successful start of the Southern Zone engagement in Shendam, the Central Zone session was held today in Pankshin, drawing participants from Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam, Mangu, and Bokkos. The session brought together education leaders, government representatives, and private sector stakeholders to strengthen entrepreneurship education at the secondary school level.
In his keynote address, the Director General of PLASMIDA, Him. Bomkam Wuyep, emphasized the Agency’s commitment to developing a new generation of entrepreneurs and innovators who can create jobs and drive economic growth. “We are nurturing individuals equipped not just with certificates, but with practical skills that prepare them to be creators of opportunities,” he stated.
He also reaffirmed that the SEA-HUB initiative aligns with the vision of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, Executive Governor of Plateau State, to empower the youth and reposition education as a tool for innovation, enterprise, and sustainable development.
Representatives from the Ministry of Education, GIZ, SMEDAN, school principals, zonal education inspectors, staff advisers, private sector actors, and community leaders attended the event, showing collective support for entrepreneurship development in schools.
Through the SEA-HUB Clubs, students will gain exposure to business development, creativity, leadership, teamwork, and financial literacy, helping them become active contributors to the economy.
PLASMIDA will continue with the Northern Zone engagement in the coming days as part of its commitment to ensuring full participation across the state. “At PLASMIDA, we believe that entrepreneurship is not just a course, it is a culture,” Wuyep added. “Together, we’re raising a new generation that doesn’t wait for opportunities—they create them.”
