The Nasarawa State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project has conducted a four-day step-down training for 165 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teachers from 55 selected public secondary schools across the state.

The training, held from Tuesday, October 21 to Friday, October 24, 2025, was part of the AGILE Project’s Digital Literacy component aimed at equipping teachers with practical ICT skills and modern teaching techniques. Participants are expected to become digital literacy champions in their respective schools, supporting the integration of technology into classroom teaching and learning.

During the opening session, State Project Coordinator Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isoga highlighted the program’s role in transforming classroom practices and preparing students for a technology-driven future. She encouraged the teachers to actively participate in all practical sessions and focus on skill application.

“This training is not just about theory—it’s about practical application,” Hajiya Isoga said. “We expect every participant to return to their schools ready to implement what they’ve learned and become champions of digital learning.”

She reaffirmed AGILE’s commitment to inclusive, technology-enabled education, especially for adolescent girls, emphasizing that digital learning plays a key role in expanding access to education and improving career prospects.

Supported by the World Bank, the AGILE Project continues to prioritize digital literacy, ICT education, and e-learning as central parts of education reform in Nasarawa State. The initiative aims to build a new generation of digitally skilled teachers and students who can thrive in the 21st-century knowledge economy.
