The highly anticipated Kwara Futures Exhibition, scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, will spotlight groundbreaking innovations developed by students of the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme. The event aims to showcase practical solutions created by young minds to address real-life challenges in agriculture, education, healthcare, and community development across Kwara State.
After months of intensive, hands-on training in coding, web development, and problem-solving, participants from all 16 local government areas are set to present their functional projects. These projects reflect creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of community needs.
Among the highlighted student projects is the Smart School Attendance System developed by students of Etsu Mamman Saba Secondary School, Batakpan. The system uses facial recognition and QR codes to automate student attendance, eliminating manual errors and improving administrative efficiency. Another project, the Report Card Generator by Ilorin Grammar School, is a digital tool designed to automate result processing, reduce teachers’ workload, ensure accuracy, and build reliable student records. The Farm Expense Tracker from IPF e-Library, Igbaja, also stands out as a simple financial management app that helps local farmers track expenses, improve accountability, and enhance productivity.
Speaking on the significance of the exhibition, Hon. Kayode Ishola, Special Assistant on Digital Innovation, stated, “What we are witnessing is not just a display of technical skills, but the rise of Kwara’s next generation of problem-solvers. With the right tools and guidance, our young people are creating impactful solutions that improve lives and drive community development.”
The event underscores Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON’s commitment to human capital development and digital transformation. Through the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme, which now covers 50 public schools and benefits over 5,600 students, the state government continues to build a strong foundation for a tech-driven, knowledge-based economy.
The Kwara Futures Exhibition is open to the public, inviting technology enthusiasts, educators, investors, and media representatives to witness how digital education is shaping the future of Kwara’s youth and economy.
