Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited has announced the call for seasoned professionals, thought leaders, and ecosystem builders to serve as Mentors, Judges, and Facilitators in the 2026 NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme – Cohort 3. The organisation made this known in a statement encouraging experienced individuals to contribute to the growth of startups developing satellite and space-based solutions to address national challenges.
According to NIGCOMSAT, the accelerator programme aims to nurture innovative startups working across sectors such as agriculture, education, finance, health, and security. As a mentor and facilitator, you will play a pivotal role in guiding founders, strengthening their strategies, and driving real impact.
The programme focuses on key innovation areas including Satellite Applications, IoT and Smart Systems, AgriTech, HealthTech, ClimateTech, and other related fields. NIGCOMSAT emphasised that mentors will have the opportunity to “contribute expertise to support early-stage startups, inspire the next generation of space-technology innovators, and gain visibility as leaders in their fields.”
The agency added that the programme will also provide networking opportunities with investors, facilitators, and other mentors within Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem. Participants are expected to help shape a growing community driving real impact through space-based technologies while enhancing their leadership and mentoring abilities.
Eligibility for mentors and facilitators includes experience in mentoring startups, team leadership, and the ability to commit time to program sessions, workshops, and Demo Day activities. Applicants should also demonstrate expertise in areas such as Satellite Technology, Telecommunications, Business Development, Space Science, Engineering, AI, Agriculture, Finance, Health, and Security.
