The Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (AKISAN) USA, Inc. has officially announced the opening of applications for the 2025/2026 AKISAN Scholarship Program. The program is designed to support Akwa Ibom students studying both in the United States and Nigeria.
This scholarship aims to encourage academic excellence and support students from Akwa Ibom State in their educational journey.
For the USA category, applicants must be indigenes of Akwa Ibom State and enrolled in any University, College, or Community College in the United States. Only undergraduate students are eligible, with 10 scholarships available, each worth $500. Applicants must be registered for the semester during which the scholarship is granted and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or a High School GPA of 3.0 on a 5.0 scale, supported by a recent transcript.
In Nigeria category, 62 scholarships are available, with two per Local Government Area. Each award is worth ₦100,000 for students maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Applicants must present a certificate of origin, transcript, or WAEC result for first-year students.
The application portal opens on November 10, 2025, and closes on January 31, 2026. Applications can be submitted via AKISAN scholarship link.
