Zamfara State Government has announced the approval of full scholarships for students to study at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria. The Executive Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal, endorsed the programme as part of the administration’s Six-Point Agenda and ongoing Rescue Mission focused on education reform and youth empowerment. According to officials, the students were selected strictly on merit after undergoing examinations and interviews conducted by the institution.
The beneficiaries will receive specialized training as Standard Pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. The State Government said it will cover all academic, financial, and welfare needs throughout the period of study to ensure the students perform well in their aviation training. This investment is seen as a response to the growing manpower needs in Zamfara, especially as the aviation sector expands and demands more skilled professionals.
A statement from the government noted that the trained Pilots and Aviation Engineers will contribute to aviation development within the state and support national economic growth. The initiative also aims to promote access to quality technical education and create opportunities for young people to build stable careers in high-demand fields such as aviation management, aircraft engineering, and aeronautical technology.
Professor Rasheedah Liman, Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Scholarship Board, reaffirmed the commitment of the government, saying the administration remains dedicated to empowering youth, promoting excellence, and strengthening the education sector.
