SMEDAN has opened the 2025 National MSME Conference with an immersive Fashion and Food Only showcase at the UNDP Innovation Center in Lagos. The event, held on Sunday, November 16, brought together emerging brands in fashion and food, senior government officials, development partners, and private sector leaders in a gathering that highlighted creativity, enterprise, and the economic opportunities linked to Nigeria’s growing MSME sector.

The Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, attended alongside Tosin Eniolorunda, Co Founder of Moniepoint. Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos on Tourism, Arts and Culture, was also present. Representatives of global and regional partners including UNDP, GIZ Nigeria and ECOWAS, AFREXIMBANK, and EcoBank joined other private organisations to show support for the entrepreneurs on display.

The Director General of SMEDAN, Charles Odii, said the opening showcase was created to link young designers and culinary talents to valuable buyers, partners, and potential clients. He explained that the event also demonstrated the commercial strength of the Wear Nigerian and Eat Nigerian pillars within the GROW Nigerian strategy. According to him, the showcase aligned with the agency’s goal of helping small businesses scale through visibility and market access.
