The Industrial Training Fund has confirmed that only SUPA Phase 2 trainees who meet the 90% attendance requirement will receive payment, according to official letters sent to centres across the country. The letters, dated November 14, 2025, were issued from the Special Duties Office under reference ITF/SDO/ADM/4/S/3/V1/98 and began reaching centres from Tuesday, November 18 after internal dispatch arrangements were completed.
In the document addressed to the Managing Director of an ITF approved training centre, the Fund reminded centres that the SUPA Phase 2 programme was structured to make administration easier and to ensure transparency in the payment process. It stated that training centres should receive trainees’ admission and acceptance letters when the trainees resume for their sessions as part of the required onboarding steps.
The letter noted that a Memorandum of Understanding signed with each centre clearly explained that payment would be based on the number of trainees who actually resumed and participated in the programme. It added, “By implication, attendance of trainees is key to payment,” stressing that trainees must meet the required presence to be fully considered.
The Industrial Training Fund also pointed out that trainees themselves must attend ninety percent of their training sessions before they qualify to be paid. According to the letter, “This is to ensure adequate participation to justify payment,” highlighting the Fund’s focus on accountability and structured programme management.
To verify compliance, ITF conducted an on-the-spot check during the programme and carried out a head count exercise across various centres nationwide. The review included examining attendance registers to identify the trainees who met the requirements for payment at the centre.
The Fund informed centres that a certain number trainees were initially allocated, but only a certain number met the ninety percent threshold. It stated that payments will be made soon “in due course based on these parameters,” applying the same verification process across all centres.
The letters signal the Fund’s commitment to ensuring that SUPA Phase 2 payments go only to trainees who actively participated.
