The Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, continued his Statewide Engagement Tour with an empowerment event in Matazu Local Government Area, where he praised the Chairman, Shamsuddeen Muhammad Sayaya, for supporting citizens through humanitarian and economic programmes.

The event included the distribution of sewing machines, irrigation machines, grinding machines, flour, and other tools meant to help small business owners, encourage self-reliance, and improve household incomes across Matazu. Governor Radda described the intervention as a “timely and meaningful contribution” to grassroots development and acknowledged the Chairman’s commitment to expanding opportunities for youths, women, and vulnerable families.

During the visit, Governor Radda paid a courtesy call on the District Head of Matazu, Alhaji Iro Maikano Fagachin Katsina. The traditional ruler appealed to the Governor to speed up the provision of portable drinking water from the Zobe Dam to Matazu town, noting that the community still faces water shortages. He also expressed appreciation to the Governor for the Federal Government hospital built in Matazu, calling it a major milestone that has improved access to healthcare for residents.
