About the Innovation Hackathon
The Bauchi Women SDG Innovation Hackathon is a women-focused innovation program designed to empower young women in Bauchi State to develop practical, technology-driven and community-based solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This hackathon provides a collaborative space for women aged 18–35 years to ideate, design and propose solutions that address pressing social, economic, health, environmental and educational challenges within our communities. Participants will receive mentorship, capacity-building support and the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.
Whether you are a student, professional, entrepreneur, or innovator with a passion for change, this hackathon is an opportunity to turn your ideas into impact.
Beyond idea generation, the hackathon is structured to help participants refine their concepts into viable solutions. Teams will be guided through problem identification, solution design, and impact measurement, ensuring that proposed innovations are practical and relevant to local needs in Bauchi State. The program also encourages teamwork, creativity, and leadership among women.

- ✨ Plus mentorship and incubation support for winning teams
In addition to cash prizes, winning teams will gain access to mentorship and incubation opportunities aimed at helping them further develop and potentially implement their solutions. This support is designed to move ideas beyond the hackathon stage into real-world impact.
Eligibility
- Open to women aged 18–35 years.
- Must be resident in Bauchi State.
- Interest in innovation, problem-solving and community development.
- No prior tech experience required.
Participants can apply individually or as part of a team. Diversity of background and experience is encouraged, as the hackathon values different perspectives and ideas.
