The 2026 RegTech Africa Conference & Exhibition is set to host the prestigious Startup World Cup Regional Competition in Abuja, marking a major milestone for Africa’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. Applications are now officially open for startups to register and participate in this globally recognised competition, which offers founders the opportunity to compete on an international stage.
As part of the build-up to the main event, the Nigeria regional competition will also take place on May 23rd – 24th in Lagos. Through this initiative, collaboration partners aim to strengthen local innovation by convening a vibrant startup ecosystem and creating direct access to leading venture capital firms and experienced technology entrepreneurs from around the world. This engagement is designed to position Nigerian startups for global visibility while encouraging cross-border partnerships.

About Startup World Cup
Startup World Cup is a global series of conferences and competitions designed to connect startup ecosystems worldwide. The initiative inspires high-potential entrepreneurs to compete for the honour of winning the Startup World Cup and a US$1 million investment prize.
The competition consists of three main stages:
- Regional finals, with more than 70 competitions scheduled globally
- A semi-final stage
- The Grand Finale, all taking place in San Francisco
During the regional event, 10 startups, pre-selected by collaboration partners, will pitch their solutions before a jury of leading investors and serial entrepreneurs. The winner will represent Nigeria in the next stages of the competition in San Francisco, competing for the US$1 million investment prize backed by Pegasus Tech Ventures.
