The Osun State Government has launched a six-month training programme focused on network system installation for 100 graduate and undergraduate youths across the state. The initiative is designed to improve digital skills and expand employment opportunities for young people through structured technical training.

The programme was announced by Bankole Omisore, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), who said the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable development in Osun State.

Omisore, who was represented by the Director of Administration, Mrs. Adeyeye Adebanke, declared the programme open at the SDG Centre in Dagbolu, Osogbo. He explained that the training targets unemployed graduates, undergraduates, and persons living with disabilities who are interested in system networking installation.

“The training is aimed at those interested in system networking installation. We have a total of 100 youths participating in the training, which will last for six months—four months for training and two months for internship,” he said.

He added that the initiative aligns with SDGs Goal 4, which focuses on Quality Education, and Goal 8, which promotes Decent Work and Economic Growth. “At the end of the programme, we expect participants to have sufficient knowledge of networking, enabling them to stand on their own and contribute to the state’s development,” Omisore stated.

The training is being organised in collaboration with Fluid Click. Oyewale Peter, representing Professor Segun Aina of Fluid Click, said participants would receive essential digital skills, especially in network system installation. “We aim to equip students with the necessary networking knowledge to prepare them for the job market,” he said.

One of the participants, Afolabi Tayo, expressed excitement about being selected for the programme. “It’s a dream come true for me because I’ve been looking forward to this kind of programme to fully equip myself in technology and networking. I am a graduate seeking to upgrade my skills and contribute to society,” he said.
