Professor Isa Ali Pantami, through the Professor Isa Pantami Foundation (PIP Foundation), has launched the distribution of about 12,500 sacks of food across all 11 local government areas of Gombe State.
The food distribution project is being coordinated under the leadership of Alhaji Abubakar Ahmad Walama (Sarkin Malaman Gombe), Dr. Abubakar Saidu, former Director of Federal Training Hospital in Gombe, Arch. Dahiru Saidu, and the wife of Professor Isa Pantami, alongside other associates, youths and women.
According to the organisers, the items include 3,500 bags of 50kg rice, 1,000 bags of 25kg rice, and more than 2,000 bags of 10kg rice. The distribution also covers more than 1,000 sacks of groceries, 1,000 bags of corn, 900 bags of kus-kus, more than 2,500 bags of semovita, 500 bags of macaroni, and over 150 bags of sugar. Other food items such as noodles, including spaghetti and macaroni, are also part of the package.
The committee stated that the food items are being distributed to religious leaders, community leaders, politicians, youths, women, orphans and persons with special needs. It publicly confirmed that distribution would take place in all 11 local government areas of the state. The committee noted, however, that “due to population size, not everyone can benefit, except those who are destined and whose names appear on the list.”
Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has supported residents during the month of Ramadan for many years, with the scale of assistance varying annually. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying it brought relief and joy to their families, and prayed for the Professor and his team.
In addition, PIP Foundation has allocated 33,750,000 Naira to support religious scholars in Gombe, with Dr. Umar Garba Dokaji leading the distribution. Last year, the foundation also donated 27 million Naira to teachers in Gombe State, alongside other contributions.
