The Induze Tech Foundation has launched the Tech Bridge Program, a digital innovation and technology learning initiative designed specifically for secondary school students. The programme officially commenced on Monday, March 2, bringing together more than 40 secondary schools across the Federal Capital Territory for an online opening session.

The initiative received approval from the FCT Secondary Education Board, allowing participating schools within the territory to join the programme as part of efforts to strengthen digital learning and innovation among young students.

The Tech Bridge Program is structured to expose students to practical technology knowledge beyond conventional classroom teaching. Through live online sessions, students and teachers from participating schools engage interactively while learning emerging technology concepts and exploring how digital tools can be used to solve real-world problems.

According to the foundation, the programme is based on the belief that every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science as part of their foundational education.

Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director of the Induze Tech Foundation, Nwabueze Stanley Chilaka, said the programme is designed to shift students from being passive users of technology to active creators and problem-solvers.

“The goal of Tech Bridge is to move students beyond simply using technology to actually understanding how technology can be used to solve problems, build solutions, and create opportunities,” Chilaka said.

He explained that the initiative focuses on combining digital skills with innovation and entrepreneurial thinking so that students can begin to see technology as a tool for addressing challenges within their communities.

“Tech Bridge exposes students to technology, digital creativity, and startup thinking at an early stage,” he added. “It helps bridge the gap between traditional classroom learning and the evolving digital world.”

The learning phase of the programme will run through a series of online classes covering key aspects of digital innovation and technology development. During these sessions, students will learn practical concepts related to technology, innovation thinking, and digital creativity while interacting with instructors and fellow participants from other schools.

After completing the classes, students will participate in a capstone project scheduled for the Easter holiday. During this stage, they will work on developing startup ideas designed to address real-life problems within their communities using technology.

Selected projects will later be presented during a Tech Bridge Exhibition planned for the third term, where students will showcase their ideas, innovations, and technology-driven solutions.

The programme is implemented by a multidisciplinary team within the foundation. Chilaka leads the initiative alongside Chima Ernest Okoli, who serves as Gender Specialist.

Other members of the team include Dorcas Edache, Roseline Danjuma, and Dennis Nwaogu.

Additional roles supporting the programme include Victor Okoro and Amarachi Okoro, while Dr. Amba Ekure provides programme coordination.

Digital engagement and communication for the initiative are coordinated by Ojekudo Oghenemaro Emmanuel. Community and school engagement activities are managed by Orisa Faith Priscillia, Queen Okari Ekine, and Precious Okari Ekine.

On the technical side, Cletus Francis Udoh oversees software development and technical implementation, while Ugonna Onyike provides governance and institutional support for the programme.

Educators participating in the initiative have described the Tech Bridge Program as a timely effort to introduce secondary school students to practical digital knowledge and innovation-driven learning beyond the traditional curriculum. With more than 40 schools participating in its first phase, the Induze Tech Foundation plans to expand the programme across the FCT and eventually to other parts of Nigeria.
