Adamawa State’s Adamawa State Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has partnered with the Adamawa State Tailoring Association to train graduating students from Technical Skills Acquisition Centres (TSACs) in practical tailoring skills, a move aimed at improving employment opportunities and encouraging entrepreneurship among young people in the state.

Under the collaboration, selected students from TSACs will undergo a three-month hands-on training programme organised by the Tailoring Association. The training will expose participants to real tailoring work environments while helping them develop customer service and basic business management skills.

Speaking during a meeting with the association in Yola, PAWECA Director General Michael Zira said the initiative is designed to ensure that students leaving the technical centres gain practical experience that will make them employable.

“Students will undergo a three-month programme where they will learn tailoring practically, while also gaining knowledge in customer relations and business management,” he said.

State chairman of the association Shehu Ahmed praised the initiative, noting that programmes supporting skills development have already helped many households across Adamawa.
