The Nigerian Army has released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) 29/2026. Successful applicants are expected to report for officer cadet training at the Officer Cadet Training Wing of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry on Friday, 27 March 2026.
Candidates are required to report with writing materials and their original credentials, including an online printout showing their passport photograph. They are also to bring three pairs of plain white short-sleeve round-neck vests and royal-blue shorts; two pairs of pure white canvas trainers; two pairs each of maroon-red vests and navy-blue tracksuits; two white and one blue long-sleeve shirts; a black tie and black belt; four pairs of white socks and two pairs of black socks; two pairs each of black and white trousers; one dark-coloured lounge suit; two pairs of national dress or suits with casual wear; one rubber-strapped wristwatch; one pair of black cover shoes; a swimming trunk; two white bedsheets and pillowcases; one blanket (grey or army green); football boots; and a pressing iron.
Female candidates are to bring one pair of black low-heel cover shoes, four dark-coloured lounge skirts, four pairs of black or blue shorts, and two pairs of trouser suits.
Serving military personnel who were shortlisted must present release letters and passes issued by their commanders or commanding officers.
Successful candidates who fail to report on the specified date will forfeit their vacancies to candidates on the reserve list. Reserve candidates are not required to report to NASI but may be contacted if vacancies arise. However, no vacancies will be offered to reserve candidates after 20 April 2026.
