The North East Youth Initiative For Development (NEYIF), in partnership with Innovation & Creativity Opportunity Hub (ICO-HUB), has opened applications for its Graduate Training Programme designed to build practical skills for the modern job market.
The programme, tagged Cohort One, is a one-month intensive training initiative aimed at graduates who are interested in advancing their knowledge and developing essential soft skills required in today’s professional environment. It is designed to help participants improve their employability while equipping them with practical competencies relevant to modern workplaces.
Training sessions will hold three days a week, specifically on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. During the programme, participants will receive training in several areas including Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, CV development, writing motivational and statement of purpose letters, job application strategies, and job interview techniques. Other training areas include basic research knowledge, foreign scholarship opportunities, as well as health, internet and social media literacy.
Participants will also benefit from learning directly from experts, gaining hands-on practical skills and improving their digital literacy. Successful participants will receive a certificate of participation, a recommendation letter valid for two years, and will also become members of the ICO-HUB alumni network. There is also the possibility of job placement for participants who perform well during the programme.
The initiative is open to graduates who are residents of Damaturu and are between the ages of 18 and 35 years. Applicants must have access to at least an Android phone and must also be willing to carry out a community project that will benefit their immediate community. Participants are expected to cover their transportation and feeding costs during the training period.
Screening of candidates will take place on 19 March 2026, while successful applicants will be announced on 22 March 2026. The programme will officially begin on 6 April 2026. Only 40 slots are available and selection will be based on merit and order of application.
