The Ogun State Government is set to host the third edition of its MSME Business Clinics, aimed at supporting small businesses with grants, expert guidance, regulatory support, free business registration, and a platform to pitch ideas for growth.
The programme, scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026, will take place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is part of the state’s continued effort to strengthen Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises by providing direct access to essential business services and opportunities.
According to the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Adebola Sofela, the initiative reflects the broader commitment of the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun to empower entrepreneurs and create a thriving business environment. He stated, “The initiative forms part of the commitment of the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun to create opportunities that enable small businesses to grow and thrive.”
The MSME Business Clinics 3.0 will bring together key regulatory and financial institutions, giving entrepreneurs a rare opportunity to engage directly with agencies critical to business development. Participants are expected to interact with organisations such as the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Corporate Affairs Commission, Bank of Industry, and the Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency.
Sofela explained that beyond networking, the programme is structured to deliver practical benefits to participants. “The programme offers eligible participants the chance to access grants, secure free business name registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, and receive support for product certification from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control,” he said.
In addition, entrepreneurs will receive expert guidance on expanding their businesses beyond local markets. The Nigerian Export Promotion Council will provide insights on export opportunities, while tax authorities will educate participants on compliance and recent changes in tax regulations. Sofela noted, “Participants will also benefit from expert guidance on exporting their products from the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, while small business owners will be educated on the new tax laws.”
The event will also feature one-on-one advisory sessions tailored to individual business needs, alongside a Business Pitch Competition designed to reward innovation and viability. “The event will feature one-on-one advisory sessions as well as a Business Pitch Competition, where participants will present their ideas and compete for grant support to grow their businesses,” Sofela added.
Entrepreneurs across the state are encouraged to take advantage of the platform to access funding, build capacity, and position their businesses for sustainable growth.
