MultiChoice Talent Factory has extended the application deadline for its 2026 intake to April 27, offering aspiring African filmmakers more time to apply for its fully funded film and television training programme.
The Pan-African training initiative said the extension is aimed at giving more young creatives across the continent the opportunity to take advantage of the programme. In a statement released on Wednesday, the institution noted that it is “providing aspiring filmmakers, directors, producers, scriptwriters, and storytellers additional time to submit their applications.”
Established by MultiChoice Group, the academy delivers a 12-month intensive programme focused on practical skills and industry exposure. Participants receive training in key areas such as scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, sound, and post-production, alongside mentorship and real-world production experience.
According to the organisers, the programme is fully funded, covering “tuition, production costs, and monthly stipends,” making it accessible to talented individuals regardless of financial background. It is open to applicants aged 18 to 35 who either hold relevant qualifications or have at least one to two years of industry experience, with no strict requirement for a formal film degree.
MultiChoice Talent Factory operates academies in Lagos, Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Lusaka, as part of its broader effort to develop creative talent and strengthen Africa’s film and television industry through structured training and global exposure opportunities.
