The OMLA Fellowship 2026, organised by the Next Leaders Initiative for Sustainability (NELIS) under One Million Leaders Africa, is calling for applications from young Africans committed to tackling pressing social and environmental challenges across the continent. The highly selective programme is designed to build a new generation of leaders equipped with the skills, values, and networks needed to drive sustainable impact.

Described as “a highly selective leadership development programme,” the fellowship focuses on equipping participants with “the knowledge, values, and tools required to drive transformative change in Africa and beyond.” Selected fellows will receive advanced training in ethical and transformative leadership, while gaining practical knowledge in sustainability, systems thinking, and social entrepreneurship.

According to the organisers, participants will also benefit from “access to a powerful network of emerging leaders across Africa and the Global South,” positioning them to collaborate and scale their impact. The programme specifically targets “ambitious, purpose-driven young leaders” who demonstrate integrity and are actively addressing community or environmental issues.
