APEX Network and AltSchool Africa have launched a large-scale crypto literacy scholarship aimed at helping Nigerians move from speculative trading to informed financial participation. The programme will provide 1,000 fully funded placements in the AltSchool Crypto Course, with applications already open to eligible candidates across the country.
The initiative is built around a clear concern: while Nigeria ranks among the highest in global crypto adoption, much of that participation is driven by trends, peer influence, and limited understanding of how digital assets actually work. This has created a gap between access and knowledge, one that both organisations now intend to address directly through structured education.
Rather than discouraging Nigerians from engaging in crypto, the programme focuses on equipping them with the tools to participate responsibly. It reframes crypto not as a quick-profit opportunity, but as part of a broader financial system that requires awareness, discipline, and long-term thinking.
The AltSchool Crypto Course has been designed to reflect that approach. It introduces participants to the history of money, explains how blockchain infrastructure functions, and teaches safe custody practices to protect digital assets. It also explores how institutions view crypto and breaks down Nigeria’s evolving regulatory environment. A full module is dedicated to compliance and regulation, reinforcing the programme’s emphasis on responsible usage over hype-driven participation.
Speaking on the initiative, Titilola Oludimu, Business & Partnership Lead at AltSchool Africa, said the goal goes beyond crypto itself.
“At AltSchool Africa, we believe access to quality education should never be determined by your financial position. This scholarship is about more than crypto — it is about giving Nigerians the foundation to make informed financial decisions in a rapidly changing world. We are proud to partner with APEX Network on an initiative that puts structured knowledge first.”
The scholarship is open to Nigerians aged 18 and above, regardless of prior experience in blockchain or cryptocurrency. This inclusiveness reflects the broader intention to build foundational understanding at scale, especially among first-time or casual participants in the crypto space.
Applications will be processed on a rolling basis, meaning qualified candidates will be selected continuously until all 1,000 slots are filled. The entire application and enrolment cycle is expected to run within an eight-week window, making early application important for interested participants.
For APEX Network, the programme also represents a strategic move to strengthen the quality of engagement within Africa’s growing crypto ecosystem. By investing in education, the company is positioning itself not just as a platform for transactions, but as a contributor to long-term financial literacy.
Abraham Efemena, CEO of APEX Network, emphasised this direction.
“We have always believed that informed participation is better for everyone — for users, for platforms, and for the long-term credibility of crypto in Africa. Partnering with AltSchool Africa on this scholarship is our commitment to that belief. We are not just funding course access; we are investing in a generation of Nigerians who will engage with digital assets on their own terms, with clarity and confidence.”
Interested applicants can submit their entries through the official page: https://altschoolafrica.com/scholarship. Selection remains ongoing, and the application window will close once all available slots are filled.
