Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 NAPTIN Graduate Skills Development Programme (NGSDP), a structured initiative aimed at preparing young professionals for careers in Nigeria’s electricity supply industry. The programme, organised by the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), is scheduled to commence on 4 May 2026 and focuses on building both technical and managerial capacity for the evolving power sector.
The NGSDP offers comprehensive training across key areas such as power generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy systems, and leadership development. Participants will benefit from a blend of classroom instruction, practical hands-on sessions, and industry attachments, ensuring they gain real-world experience and relevant skills required in the field.
The programme is open to private professionals who possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related disciplines. Applicants must also have completed the NYSC programme and demonstrate a clear interest in the energy sector. In addition, institutional nominees from corporate organisations, government agencies, and private firms are eligible, provided they meet the same academic requirements.
Participants will receive an industry-recognised certification from NAPTIN, gain access to experienced trainers and modern facilities, and build valuable networks within Nigeria’s power industry. The programme also enhances career prospects through practical skill development and offers Level 5 NSQ certification.
The application fee is ₦850,000, payable in two instalments. Interested applicants should visit www.naptin.gov.ng/ngsdp/ to apply. Please note that applications close on 27 April 2026.
