Moniepoint Inc. has opened applications for the 2026 edition of its Women in Tech internship programme, offering paid opportunities, structured mentorship, and a clear pathway to potential full-time roles for women across Nigeria looking to start or grow their careers in technology.

Now in its sixth edition, the programme continues to expand its impact by creating access for women who have the talent and ambition to succeed in tech but have faced barriers to entry. This year’s campaign is built around the theme “There is Space for You,” reinforcing the company’s position that the industry must become more inclusive and accessible.

The initiative comes at a time when women remain underrepresented in Nigeria’s technology sector, accounting for just 25 per cent of the workforce despite making up nearly half of the population and about 22 per cent of annual STEM graduates. Moniepoint’s programme is designed to help bridge this gap by offering real opportunities rather than just advocacy.

For 2026, the internship offers a wider range of roles across some of the most in-demand fields in the tech industry. These include Cloud Engineering, Frontend and Backend Engineering, Data Engineering, Systems Administration, Product Management, Information Security, Mobile Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering. This expansion reflects both industry demand and the programme’s commitment to preparing participants for real-world tech careers.

Selected applicants will receive a competitive salary, work tools, branded merchandise, and hands-on mentorship from experienced professionals within the company. Beyond the internship experience, participants who demonstrate strong performance may be considered for full-time employment, making the programme a direct pipeline into the workforce.

Chinaza Nduka-Dike, Head of People Operations at Moniepoint Inc., said the programme goes beyond inclusion messaging and focuses on building lasting opportunities. She noted that over the past five cohorts, participants have gone on to make meaningful contributions within the company and across the wider tech ecosystem.

The 2026 launch also aligns with broader global efforts to promote gender equality, particularly the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5. Moniepoint positions the programme as part of a long-term commitment to investing in access, skill development, and a sense of belonging for women in tech.

Applications officially opened on March 30, 2026, and the programme is open to women across Nigeria, whether they are self-taught, transitioning from other careers, or formally trained in technology.

Interested applicants can find more details on available roles and submit their applications through the official website: https://womenintech.moniepoint.com.
