The initiative, being driven by the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, is part of broader strategies under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at promoting inclusive growth, strengthening capacity in Science, Technology and Innovation, and positioning the country towards a $1tn economy.

According to a statement, the investors have demonstrated commitment to the project by offering a prime site in Lagos for the proposed technology hub.

Udeh described the planned park as a flagship national project designed to drive cutting-edge research, innovation and commercialisation across key sectors including Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Engineering and environmental sustainability.

He said the initiative would play a critical role in building a globally competitive workforce while enhancing Nigeria’s technological independence.

The minister also reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to leveraging Public-Private Partnerships to deliver critical infrastructure in the science and technology sector, noting that collaboration with credible investors would accelerate innovation-driven development.

The project, to be located in Festac Phase II, Lagos State, is being developed in partnership with New Festac Development Limited.

The ministry stated that the park would serve as a national ecosystem for advanced skills development and industrial innovation, adding that it would unlock economic opportunities and support sustainable growth.

It added that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to position Nigeria as a leading technology hub in Africa.
