The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture has announced a partnership with Giwa Gardens to offer 1,000 free tickets to residents across the state as part of efforts to promote family recreation.

The initiative, which will run throughout April, is aimed at providing Lagos families with access to safe and inclusive leisure activities. It also forms part of the state government’s broader plan to improve the quality of life of residents by encouraging relaxation and bonding among families.

According to a statement, each ticket grants access to the water park and includes a safety kit. However, the free tickets are valid for one-time use during selected weekends in April, specifically April 3 to 5, April 10 to 12, April 17 to 19, and April 24 to 26.

Speaking on the development, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, described the initiative as a deliberate effort to make quality leisure experiences accessible to all Lagosians.

He said, “Lagos is open, Lagos is fun and Lagos is for everyone,” noting that the programme goes beyond free access, as it is designed to strengthen family wellbeing and social connections across communities.

Aregbe added that the collaboration reflects the government’s commitment to creating a vibrant city where residents can enjoy recreational opportunities in a safe environment.

Interested participants have been advised to register by sending their names and email addresses to iaregbe@lagosstate.gov.ng or zidowu@lagosstate.gov.ng.

The ministry noted that the tickets are free and will be issued electronically on a first-come, first-served basis.

It also stated that all visitors are required to wear Crocs for safety while using the water park facilities.
