The Federal Government has begun reviewing applications submitted under the HappyWoman initiative, marking a new phase in the nationwide programme aimed at empowering women.
The update obtained by Nigeria Startup News on Monday was communicated to applicants through an official email, notifying them that their submissions are currently under assessment. According to the message, the review process is ongoing, while successful applicants will be contacted after completion.
The initiative has reportedly recorded strong participation from women across the country, reflecting growing interest in government-backed opportunities focused on personal and economic development.
HappyWoman is designed to reach about 1 million Nigerian women by providing access to training, funding, mentorship, and digital tools. The platform operates as a central hub where users can connect with programmes suited to their business, career, and personal growth needs.
It targets a broad group of beneficiaries, including entrepreneurs, small business owners, creatives, and women seeking to build new skills or advance professionally. Participants are also able to access financing opportunities, capacity development programmes, and market support through the platform.
Sources familiar with the process indicated that the ongoing review will be conducted carefully due to the high number of applications received, with emphasis on fairness and transparency in the selection process.
The Federal Government has positioned the HappyWoman programme as part of its wider strategy to improve digital inclusion and strengthen the economic participation of women, particularly those in underserved communities.
Applicants have been advised to regularly check their email and dashboard for updates on their application status as the review continues.
Meanwhile, Nigerians who are yet to apply are encouraged to take advantage of the ongoing application window by submitting their entries through the official HappyWoman platform. Apply Here.
