The 2026 edition of the National MSME Awards has officially opened, with 100 outstanding Nigerian small businesses set to receive over ₦1 billion in grants. The initiative aims to accelerate business growth, support innovation, and strengthen job creation across key sectors of the economy.
This is a federal government initiative organised as part of Nigeria’s broader MSME development strategy. The National MSME Awards is a week-long programme designed to recognise and reward high-performing indigenous enterprises. Activities during the week include the global MSME Week celebration, an expanded MSME Clinic, business exhibitions, plenary sessions, and a grand award gala.
Since its launch in August 2018, the programme has recorded consistent growth. Over five editions, more than 40 verified winners have emerged, benefiting from a mix of financial support, vehicles, and increased local and international visibility. The scale of rewards has also expanded significantly—from a single car prize in 2018 to multiple vehicles across categories—reflecting stronger collaboration between the Federal Government and private sector stakeholders.
For the 2026 cycle (8th edition), finalists across all categories will be shortlisted, with the top three candidates in each category invited to Abuja for the final stage of the competition.
