A total of 9,731 young Nigerians under the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP 2.0) have been confirmed ready for placement across organisations nationwide, positioning them to earn a monthly stipend of N150,000 as part of a structured one-year work experience scheme.

The latest programme data shows that out of 17,625 successful applicants, 9,731 have been fully prepared and admitted into the NJFP Talent Pool, where they are now awaiting deployment to host organisations in both the public and private sectors.

The development highlights a significant expansion in the Federal Government-backed initiative, which is designed to bridge the gap between academic qualifications and workplace readiness among Nigerian graduates.

Under NJFP 2.0, selected fellows are entitled to a monthly stipend of N150,000, paid based on attendance and performance throughout the 12-month placement period. The programme is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with a focus on improving employability outcomes for young Nigerians.

Available figures also indicate that 7,894 fellows have already been successfully matched with host organisations nationwide, suggesting steady progress in the placement process. However, the larger pool of 9,731 candidates signals that more organisations are still needed to absorb the remaining talent.

The NJFP operates as a demand-driven talent matching system, where pre-screened and trained graduates are connected directly to employers seeking skilled entry-level professionals. Participating organisations are not required to pay salaries, as the programme covers the monthly stipend, lowering hiring costs while providing access to vetted talent.

Eligibility for the programme includes possession of a degree or HND, completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and an age limit of 30 years or below at the point of application. Candidates are also required to have achieved a minimum of Second Class Lower or Upper Credit.

The growing size of the NJFP Talent Pool reflects both the demand for employment opportunities among Nigerian youth and the increasing reliance on structured public-private interventions to address unemployment.

With thousands of trained fellows still awaiting placement, the programme presents an opportunity for organisations to onboard skilled graduates without immediate payroll obligations, while contributing to workforce development across the country.
