Talent Lab is inviting applications from qualified Nigerians for the role of Data Collectors on behalf of its client. The opportunity is part of a 3-week nationwide data collection exercise designed to assess the readiness of Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF)-supported Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) deployment.

The exercise will be conducted across selected PHCs in twelve states, including Adamawa, Bauchi, Niger, Nasarawa, Kano, Jigawa, Anambra, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Oyo, and Lagos State.

This application process also includes a short assessment test for all applicants.

About the Programme

The project aims to evaluate critical components required for the successful transition from paper-based systems to Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) in Nigeria’s primary healthcare system.

Selected Data Collectors will support the assessment of:

  • Technical infrastructure within PHCs
  • Operational workflows and service delivery processes
  • Workforce capacity and digital readiness
  • Data use, reporting systems, and organisational preparedness

Findings from this exercise will guide pilot implementation and scale-up of EMR systems across participating states.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Participate in mandatory training covering study protocols, data collection tools, and ethical procedures
  • Collect facility-level data using standardised digital tools such as ODK
  • Visit an average of 26 health facilities during the exercise
  • Support pilot testing and validation of data collection tools
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of daily data
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of ND or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of local communities within the assigned state
  • Fluency in at least one local language (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, or Pidgin)
  • Proficiency in using digital data collection tools
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
