Women farmers in Northern Nigeria now have a new opportunity to strengthen their agricultural businesses through the Shecluded NomaMata Program, an initiative designed to equip women with the skills, tools, and financial support needed to build sustainable agribusiness ventures.
The programme, launched under the theme “Empower Her Farm, Empower the North,” is targeted at women farmers and women involved in agribusiness across Northern Nigeria. Through this initiative, Shecluded aims to support female agricultural entrepreneurs by improving their access to training, finance, market opportunities, and land ownership support.
NomaMata is part of a broader effort to close the gap in agricultural inclusion by ensuring that women, especially those in underserved northern communities, can participate more fully in the agricultural value chain and grow profitable farming enterprises.
About the NomaMata Program
The NomaMata Program is designed to help women farmers move beyond subsistence farming into structured and profitable agribusiness. Selected participants will receive practical knowledge and financial empowerment tools that can help improve productivity, income generation, and long-term asset ownership.
Shortlisted applicants will benefit from:
- Practical farming and agribusiness training
- Access to capital and savings support systems
- Market linkages to improve sales and profitability
- Opportunity to compete for grants to purchase new farmland
According to the programme details, five outstanding women will receive grant support specifically to acquire farmland, helping them expand production capacity and strengthen long-term economic security.
Who Can Apply
To qualify for the Shecluded NomaMata Program, applicants must:
- Be women aged between 18 and 50 years
- Reside in Northern Nigeria
- Be actively involved in farming or agribusiness
- Be willing to commit fully to the programme
