Teach For Nigeria to train 500 TRCN-certified teachers, education officers

Teach For Nigeria has announced the continuation of its Professional Development Training for educators in partnership with the TY Danjuma Foundation, the Lagos State Ministry of Education, and the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission.

The organisation disclosed this in a statement on its official channels, noting that the training will bring together 500 Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria-certified teachers and 20 education officers for an intensive programme in Oshodi, Lagos.

According to Teach For Nigeria, the training will focus on strengthening classroom culture, improving student engagement, and enhancing instructional effectiveness through the application of 21st-century teaching practices.

The statement read, “We are excited to continue our Professional Development Training for educators in partnership with the TY Danjuma Foundation and the Lagos State Ministry of Education, alongside the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission.”

It added that the initiative builds on its long-standing collaboration with the TY Danjuma Foundation to improve teaching quality across multiple states.

“This year, 500 TRCN-certified teachers and 20 education officers will gather in Oshodi, Lagos, for an intensive training focused on strengthening classroom culture, improving student engagement, and enhancing instructional effectiveness using 21st-century teaching practices,” the organisation stated.

Teach For Nigeria further revealed that since 2020, it has trained over 20,000 educators across 29 states, equipping them with skills to create safe, inclusive, and effective learning environments.

The organisation emphasised that the programme also promotes peer learning and knowledge sharing among participants, aimed at expanding impact within the education sector.

“Together, we are shaping the future of education, one teacher, one classroom, one student at a time,” it added.

The training is scheduled to hold on April 23 and 24 at Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos.
