Kaduna State University (KASU) has opened submissions for market-ready and commercially viable innovations under the Federal Government-backed Energise Commercialisation Now (ECoN) Programme. The initiative is designed to identify scalable ideas that can attract investment, drive industrialisation, and position Nigeria for export growth.
The call targets innovators, researchers, startups, and entrepreneurs with solutions that have moved beyond the conceptual stage and demonstrate clear commercial potential. As part of its participation, KASU is expected to submit a minimum of 20 high-quality innovations into the national programme.
About the ECoN Programme
The Energise Commercialisation Now (ECoN) Programme is a strategic intervention aimed at bridging the gap between innovation and the marketplace. It focuses on accelerating the transition of promising ideas into viable products and services that can contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic development.
Selected innovations are expected to align with national priorities, particularly in areas such as job creation, industrial expansion, and export competitiveness.
Who Can Apply
KASU encourages submissions from individuals and teams working on innovations that are:
- Market-ready or close to commercial deployment
- Technically feasible and scalable
- Solving real-world problems with defined target users
Applicants must be able to clearly demonstrate the value proposition of their innovation and its readiness for investment or market entry.
Submission Requirements
All entries must be submitted through the official application form and include the following details:
- Title and a brief description of the innovation
- Stage of development (prototype, pilot, or market-ready)
- Problem being addressed and the intended users
- Clear development or execution timeline
Incomplete submissions or entries that do not meet the stated criteria may not be considered.
