Applications are now open for the NLNG 2026 Post Primary Scholarship Scheme, an education support initiative targeted at high-performing Basic Six pupils from host communities in Rivers State.
The scheme is designed to support beneficiaries throughout their secondary school education, helping to reduce financial barriers and encourage academic excellence among young learners.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be an indigene of NLNG host communities in Rivers State
- Must be in Basic Six and attending a public primary school in Rivers State
- Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant
- Must not be more than 12 years old
- Must not be a child, ward, or relation of NLNG staff
Criteria for Award
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a Basic 6 pupil in a public primary school in Rivers State
- Secure provisional admission into any of the following NLNG partner schools before July 2026:
- Hallel College (Boarding), Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt
- ABEC Secondary School, Woji, Port Harcourt
- Christie Toby Education Centre, Iriebe
- Provide academic results for:
- Basic 4 (1st, 2nd, and 3rd term)
- Basic 5 (1st, 2nd, and 3rd term)
- First term of Basic 6
- Submit an attestation letter signed and stamped by the headteacher (including contact number)
- Provide an indigene confirmation letter signed by the CDC Chairman or community ruler
- Submit a letter of identification from the Local Government Council (LGC)
- Provide a recent passport photograph (taken not earlier than January 2026, without glasses)
- Present a birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission (NPC)

- LGC identification letter
- NPC-issued birth certificate

Important Information
- All required documents must be uploaded; incomplete applications will be disqualified
- Applicants must provide valid email and phone number for communication
- Candidates are advised to check their email regularly for updates
- Submission of false or falsified documents will lead to disqualification
- Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the selection test
- The selection test will be paper-based and held at designated centres in Port Harcourt
