The Abia State Government is set to officially flag off TechRise 3.0 on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand digital skills training and youth empowerment across the state.
The programme will hold at Hotel De La Paix, located at 60 Ekenna Avenue/38 Brass Street, Aba, Abia State.
TechRise 3.0 is being organised under the state government’s broader digital transformation and human capital development agenda aimed at preparing young people for opportunities in the growing technology ecosystem.
According to information released ahead of the launch, the initiative is designed to equip Abia youths with practical and in-demand digital skills that can improve employability, entrepreneurship, and participation in the digital economy.
The government said the programme also aligns with its long-term vision of positioning Abia as a rising hub for innovation, technology, and talent development in Nigeria.
Ahead of the official flag off ceremony, onboarding of participants commenced on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the venue in Aba, signalling the start of activities for the latest phase of the programme.
Officials noted that TechRise 3.0 builds on previous editions of the initiative, with renewed focus on empowering young people through relevant technology training and sustainable economic inclusion.
The programme is expected to provide participants with exposure to modern digital tools and practical knowledge that can support career growth, remote work opportunities, and startup development.
