The Federal Government has begun approving applications under the YouthCred programme targeted at employed Nigerian youths, with some successful applicants already receiving official approval notifications after BVN verification.

Checks by Nigeria Startup News showed that approved applicants received emails confirming they now have access to YouthCred’s financial services designed for employed youths. The approval message informed beneficiaries that their applications were successful after verification and directed them to log into the platform to continue their loan process.

According to the message sent to beneficiaries, applicants are expected to complete their profile setup where necessary, explore available loan products, and apply based on their financial needs.

The development comes as the Federal Ministry of Youth Development continues the rollout of the YouthCred initiative, a programme introduced to improve financial literacy and expand credit access for young Nigerians.

YouthCred was launched on August 7, 2025, to help young Nigerians build stronger money management skills while also providing credit support.

The programme is an initiative aimed at transforming a generation with the right financial knowledge and access to responsible credit opportunities.

YouthCred is powered by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) as part of the Federal Government’s wider youth empowerment and financial inclusion efforts aimed at supporting young Nigerians with access to structured financial services and responsible lending opportunities.

The approval process is expected to continue in batches as more applications undergo verification and assessment. Interested Nigerians can visit www.youthcred.com for more information.
