The Kukah Centre for Faith and Leadership Research has opened applications for Election Security Risk Observers (ESROs) as part of preparations for the 2027 General Elections.

The recruitment is for 37 positions, with one position available in each state of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. The selected observers will be expected to work in their state of residence and may travel within the state when required.
The engagement will run from October 2026 to March 2027, covering the pre-election, election and immediate post-election periods.
According to the call for applications, ESROs will be responsible for continuous electoral risk monitoring and hotspot tracking. They will also verify reported incidents through direct observation or information from multiple sources.
The observers will be required to prepare bi-weekly State Situation Reports and submit rapid Incident Reports within 24 hours when necessary.
The opportunity is intended for qualified candidates who can support the monitoring of electoral risks and developments during the election period.
The role also involves identifying emerging electoral tensions and reporting relevant developments promptly, helping provide timely information on risks, incidents and hotspots throughout the assigned state during the engagement period within their assigned area.
