Yiaga Africa has opened applications for Master Trainers under its Watching the Vote (WTV) project, a citizen-led election observation initiative designed to provide credible, independent and verifiable information on Nigeria’s electoral process.
The Master Trainers will play a central role in the WTV project by training recruited participants, including State Focal Persons (SFPs), Local Government Area (LGA) Supervisors and Polling Unit Observers. They will also support the WTV team during deployment and other assigned activities.
This opportunity is for non-partisan Nigerians who believe in democracy and are interested in promoting electoral integrity. Selected Master Trainers will form part of the WTV leadership structure and are expected to be available to work on a part-time basis.
The role requires applicants to have tertiary education, strong facilitation and communication skills, basic computer and internet skills, a functional mobile phone and the ability to send Short Message Service (SMS). Applicants must also be registered voters with functional bank accounts.
Candidates are expected to remain neutral, reliable, responsive and accountable while demonstrating leadership, problem-solving and attention to detail. Only successful applicants will be shortlisted for an interview.
Who can apply
The opportunity is open only to Nigerians resident in Abuja who meet the stated requirements and can commit to the project on a part-time basis.
