Applicants in the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recruitment have appealed to Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Board for clear updates on their application status and drug screening.
Candidates say the portal continues to display “check back later” after reopening for applicants to confirm their status and obtain screening codes. Others, including Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) holders, say they cannot see their status while candidates in other categories have received updates.
Applicants who say they completed earlier stages, including oral interviews, remain uncertain about what comes next. They have asked the Board to clarify the drug test process, issue clear instructions and ensure fair treatment.
The CDCFIB announced that its portal would reopen from October 28 to November 13, 2026, for successful candidates to check their status and obtain codes for drug screening with the NDLEA. The recruitment covers the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service and Federal Fire Service.
The Board said screening is mandatory and government-funded. The NDLEA has warned applicants not to pay for the drug test, following reports of candidates being charged.
What applicants want
Applicants want the Board to explain portal messages, clarify who qualifies for the next stage or not, and provide updates on screening and appointment letters. They also seek a transparent process and clear information, rather than being left to rely on rumours or checking the portal multiple times per day.
Candidates should follow official CDCFIB updates and avoid paying anyone claiming to facilitate recruitment or screening.
