The Federal Government has announced a new homeownership opportunity linked to a 2,000-unit Renewed Hope Housing Development at Lekki Aviation Town, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.
The project was flagged off on October 30, 2026, by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Rabe Darma. It is being developed through a partnership involving the Federal Government, Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Limited, and Metroscape Development Company Limited.
The estate is expected to comprise two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes in the Ibeju-Lekki corridor, an area experiencing major industrial and commercial growth around the Dangote Refinery, Lekki Deep Sea Port and the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
The Chief Executive Officer of Harmony Gardens, Abdullahi Saheed Mosadoluwa, said prospective buyers could begin the homeownership process with an initial deposit of ₦100,000 and spread payments over 25 years through the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).
He identified teachers, nurses, police officers, civil servants, young entrepreneurs and Nigerians in the diaspora among the groups the arrangement is intended to accommodate.
However, the ₦100,000 figure should not be mistaken for the full cost of a house or a confirmed universal deposit for every property. The developer’s current financing page describes mortgage financing as requiring a 10 per cent initial deposit, subject to lender approval. It also lists different house types and prices, with some units costing tens of millions of naira. Applicants should therefore obtain written confirmation of the exact deposit, property price, interest rate, fees and repayment terms before paying.
The Federal Government said the project is part of its wider Renewed Hope housing effort to increase housing supply, improve access to mortgage finance and encourage private-sector participation.
The Housing Minister said the success of the development would depend on delivering safe, quality and affordable homes on schedule. He also urged the developers to observe building standards and environmental requirements.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning, Awaji Inombek Abiante, called for proper planning around transport, markets and essential services so that the new estate would not create additional pressure on existing infrastructure.
No closing date or final allocation timetable was included in the ministerial announcement publicly.
How to apply
Interested Nigerians can begin by visiting the developer’s housing website, harmonyrenewedhope.com, to review available house types, prices and financing routes. The site provides options to check eligibility, choose a property, book an inspection and submit an application with supporting documents.
Applicants seeking mortgage financing should confirm the lender’s requirements, including income assessment and any National Housing Fund (NHF) contribution conditions that apply to their chosen route. The developer lists FMBN/NHF and other financing pathways, but final approval rests with the relevant lender.
Before making any payment, request a written offer showing the exact property, total price, deposit, interest rate, repayment period and additional charges. Do not rely on the ₦100,000 announcement alone as proof that a home can be secured for that amount. Use the developer’s published contact details to clarify any discrepancy and keep receipts for every transaction.
