The Delta State House of Assembly has moved to strengthen local security efforts by introducing a bill to amend the Community Security Corps Agency Law. This initiative is part of a broader plan to recruit local residents who understand the terrain, to assist law enforcement with intelligence and surveillance.

“The bill is targeted at improving grassroots security,” a lawmaker stated during the plenary session. “We want our communities to be safer.”

This move aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on economic development and social peace. “We must secure our state to attract investment and create jobs,” the governor said.
