The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) has officially launched a Training of Trainers (ToT) program in Nasarawa State to promote digital education across public secondary schools. The program began at the Tanko Al-Makura Professional Test Centre, located within the NASITDEA complex, and is designed to boost ICT capacity in the education sector.
In its first phase, the initiative will equip 50 out of 150 Government Secondary Schools with essential digital infrastructure, including internet access and alternative power sources. This move is expected to improve students’ access to digital learning and technology skills.
Hon. John Mamman, the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Education, stated, āThe government is committed to equipping our students, especially the girls, with digital skills that are essential for todayās world.ā
Haruna Sani Sani, Director General of NASITDEA, emphasized that the program would ācontribute to digital transformation across the state.ā He added that selected Master Trainers will be trained to pass digital knowledge to ICT teachers across all 13 Local Government Areas.
